Every Step Counts: Join Our Charity Hike on the Jurassic Coast This October
This October, we’re hosting The Flora Maverick Jurassic Coast Hike - a brand-new charity hike event set along one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the UK. This is your chance to unlock a new way to experience the trails with Maverick Race while doing something even bigger: hiking for charity.
Taking place on 18th October, this special sponsored walk combines everything you love about Maverick Race with the opportunity to make every step count.
Organised by Maverick Race in partnership with Flora, this unique outdoor fundraising event has charity at its heart. Every entry supports one of five incredible organisations: Alzheimer’s Research UK, Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, Asthma + Lung UK, Marie Curie, and Samaritans.
Two distances. One unforgettable journey.
Starting from just outside the iconic village of Corfe Castle, you’ll choose between two trekking routes designed for walking for a cause:
• Half Marathon Hike: Sweeping coastal ridge-lines on the Purbeck Way, passing the famous Old Harry Rocks. Perfect for those new to long-distance walking or looking for a scenic charity walk.
• Marathon Hike – A deeper trekking exploration of the Isle of Purbeck, taking in Durlston Country Park, Winspit Quarry, and the dramatic cliffs of St Aldhelm’s Head before looping back via the Hardy Way. Ideal for experienced hikers seeking a challenge.
Expect stunning views, rolling hills, and moments that will push you, with rewards waiting around every corner.
Whether you’re stepping up to your first sponsored walk or looking for your next big outdoor adventure, this is your chance to experience the Jurassic Coast in a whole new way.
Entry to the Jurassic Hike is just £25 per person, with every participant committing to raise funds for their chosen cause. Anyone walking the Marathon route must commit to raising a minimum of £400, and anyone walking the Half Marathon needs to raise a minimum of £200.
