Adidas Kendal Mountain 10km Trail Run
START: 11AM
The hugely popular 10km* is returning to take over the bustling streets of Kendal. Integral to the Kendal Mountain Festival, join over 1,000 Festival-goers in this high-energy run, visiting scenic landmarks and rugged fells used by the local running community.,,
The route is pure trail running, strewn with natural obstacles across tarmac, fells, fields and cobbled streets with lots of great ascents, green vistas, some hard-packed and grassy trails for a boisterous and thrilling descent through the town centre finishing to a roaring crowd of spectators!
*Please note this trail route is closer to 10.6km, but 10km has a nicer ring to it!
The North Face Kendal Mountain 50km Ultra Run
START: 9AM
A firm favourite in the trail runners' training calendar is The North Face Kendal Mountain 50km ultra run that takes place over the Festival weekend.
This undulating trail route is perfect for first-time ultra runners looking to take on their first 50km, experienced trail runners aiming to set a new PB and seasoned long-distance athletes.
Take the scenic route over the remarkable fells, circumnavigating Kendal and its surrounds. Immerse yourself in the local landmarks and geological features, including limestone escarpments, castles, a deer park and river trails.
Starting on closed roads in Kendal town centre, the course offers a fantastic day of trail running. Its spectacular finish, swinging into Kendal Mountain Festival Basecamp cheered on by hundreds of Festival-goers, makes it an ultra not to be missed.

The North Face Kendal Mountain 25km Trail Run
START: 10AM
What do you do when 10km is not enough, but 50km is too much? Launching this year will be The North Face Kendal Mountain 25km Trail Run.
A beautiful trail running route that catches the high-energy, scenic landmarks and rugged fells from the 10km, with the distance across undulating trails from parts of the 50km. There will be tarmac, fells, fields and cobbled streets, limestone escarpments, castles, a deer park and river trails.
Starting on the closed roads of Kendal, the route will take you across local fells with breathtaking views of the Lake District summits in sight, finishing as always to a roaring crowd of spectators!
This trail route is perfect for runners who wish to progress their half-marathon pace as well as experienced trail runners aiming to set a new PB.

CUT-OFF TIMES
Below shows each of the outposts on route (food/water stops), along with their respective cut off time for the 50k route. Your safety is our priority - There is no flexibility on cut off times. If you arrive at the outpost after the cut off time, you will be taken back to the finish venue, this is a non-negotiable. You must leave the outpost before the cut off time:

OP2: 13:20 (21km)
OP3: 15:10 (29km)
OP4: 17:05 (39k)
Finish: 19:00

The 25k and 50k route contribute towards your ITRA and UTMB points index. Please see the routes above to see what points each route gives you.
OUTPOSTS
There will be 4 outposts on the 50k route (as listed above), 2 outposts for the 25k route (6km and 15km into the run) and 1 outpost on the 10k route (6km into the run).
The outposts are designed to act as a top-up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as gels and electrolyte drink.
HEADPHONES
We strongly recommend not wearing headphones at this event, but if you do want to listen to your tunes whilst on the trials, we recommend bone conduction headphones.
BRING YOUR OWN CUP
In an effort to keep our trails clean and preserve the nature around us, weโre aiming to keep our outposts cup and plastic free. Please bring a cup or bottle to re-fill.

Runners on the 10k should bring:
Waterproof jacket
500ml of water
Hat or buff
Reusable cup

Runners on the 25k and 50k should bring everything listed above plus:
Waterproof trousers or leggings
Additional long sleeve base layer top
Mobile phone (in case of emergency)
800 Calories (equivalent of 2 bars and 2 gels)
Minimum of 1 litre of water
Self-adhesive elastic bandage
Foil blanket
Gloves
Head torch & spare batteries
