Section C: Maverick Camps Terms and Conditions
SECTION A: Maverick Race General Terms and Conditions
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DETAILED BELOW APPLY TO ALL ENTRANTS PARTICIPATING IN THE MAVERICK RACE EVENT SERIES ORGANISED AND RUN BY MAVERICK RACE. COMPLETION OF AN ENTRY FORM OR PURCHASE OF ANY ENTRY BY EVENT PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGES THE ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BY THE PARTICIPANT.
1 - The participant is fully responsible for their actions whilst attending any event. This includes the event HQ and the event course itself. Maverick Race does not accept responsibility for the actions of the participant, nor the consequences of such actions.
2 - Each participant upon signing the registration form agrees that they are physically and mentally capable of completing the race route they have signed up to do. If during the event they decide to change their route, they do so at their own risk and must inform a member of the Maverick Race team upon their return.
3 - The event registration form must be completed by a person aged 18 or over. Evidence of age may be requested. Participants under the age of 18 will be allowed to participate in the event with the consent of a parent or guardian who must sign the event registration form on behalf of the underage participant. Signing is also acceptable for the actions and consequences of the under-age participant. Anyone aged 16 or under needs to be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them.
4 - The participant confirms that the kit they have chosen to wear during the event is suitable and worthy to complete the longest route regardless of whether this is the chosen route or not.
5 - During the events, there will be warning signs at appropriate times throughout the route. The absence of these signs does not signal there are no dangers approaching and it’s the decision of the participant to decide whether to continue on a section or not.
6 - Due to the nature of the events, some of the terrains will be uneven or slippery. It is down to the participant to decide whether they will proceed on that section or not.
7 - Any marked route is shown for guidance only and Maverick Race does not insist that you use the route shown. Therefore, if the participant chooses to proceed on a section that isn’t marked to avoid any obstacles or sections they believe are beyond their capabilities, they do so entirely at their own risk.
8 - Maverick Race reserves the right to shorten or adjust the published route at any time. Participants do not have the right to claim a refund if the route has been shortened.
9 - Participants must be considerate to other users of bridleways, footpaths, or byways. Upon seeing other users, such as walkers or horse riders, participants are required to pass with care. Where appropriate participants should stop and wait at the side of the track to allow other users to pass safely.
10 - Each participant is fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred arising from an accident. This involves, but is not exclusive to police, air ambulance, fire and rescue, and the ambulance service. If it arises that the participant is not able to make the decision to call the emergency services, they agree that a member of the Maverick Race team or a member of the public may call for them. In this incident, the participant still accepts the cost incurred and the consequences of such actions.
11 - Each participant agrees to assign and grant the right and give permission for Maverick Race to use and publish any photographs, films, or videos on any Maverick Race activity. The participant hereby releases Maverick Race from any and all liability from such use and promotion. The participant hereby authorizes the reproduction, sale, copyright, exhibit, broadcast, electronic storage, and distribution of said photograph or video without limitation at the discretion of Maverick Race. The participant specifically waives any right to the compensation they may have for appearing in any of the photographs or videos at a Maverick Race event.
12 - If the participant is unable to complete an event they agree to call or return to the event HQ and report to a member of the Maverick Race team.
13 - If you cannot make a race, we’re more than happy to transfer you to another race of equal, or less value of your choice. You must notify us on or before the Monday before the event day (5 days before the event date). The race that you're transferring into however needs to have the capacity to do so. We also cannot transfer you out of a race if it is full (Sold Out), unless we have at least 7 days prior notice to the event. This is because in some circumstances we have a reserve list that we fill drop if anyone drops out. After we pass this time - we can no longer replace your entry.
14 - If you have registered on behalf of someone else, by accepting our terms and conditions you are responsible for making them aware of the terms and hereby are accepting them on behalf of them.
15 - Entry fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
16 - Maverick Race reserves the right to cancel any event due to extreme weather conditions. In such an event, each participant’s entry will be transferred to a rescheduled date. If a participant cannot make the new date, they can carry entry to another event within the same series. No refunds will be issued.
17 - We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy

14 - Payment Plan Terms and Conditions
Maverick Race offers the option of a Payment Plan to make our Camps more affordable for participants by spreading the cost. Information on how this works is given below. If you purchase a place via one of the two payment plan options then you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions:
Instalments:
1. If you have paid the deposit (50%), the remaining balance will be due 8 weeks before the trip commencement date.
If paying monthly, the second payment will be taken 1 month after your initial purchase date. Payments will be taken monthly, on the same date each month, until the full balance is reached.
2. If you have paid the deposit (50%), a reminder will be sent out 14 days, 7 days and 1 day prior to the remaining balance due date.
If paying monthly, reminders will not be sent out for instalments; they will be taken automatically so please make sure there is enough balance within your account.
Payment Card:
If you elect to pay for the booking through the Payment Plan, you acknowledge and agree that:
You must enter valid payment card details;
We will store your payment card details and will automatically deduct the relevant payment instalment from your card on each instalment date;
It is your responsibility to ensure that the payment card details remain valid and up to date. You will have the opportunity to change your payment card details through your account, but you must do this before payment of the next instalment becomes due.
Failed Payments:
If a Payment Plan has been set up, we will automatically take payment of the instalment on each payment date within the Payment Plan. It is your responsibility to ensure payments do not fail, but notwithstanding this obligation, if a payment attempt fails for whatever reason (e.g. the card has expired, is no longer valid, insufficient funds or card is declined by the bank), then we will:
Give you notice of the failed payment attempt advising you that we will try to take payment again in 7 days, giving you the opportunity to correct the situation;
If the payment attempt fails again, we will send you a second failed payment notice and repeat the process at paragraph (a);
If the payment attempt fails for a third time, we may at our discretion cancel the booking by giving you written notice.
Please note, upon cancellation of the booking due to your failure to keep up with the Payment Plan, your order will be cancelled and you will lose your deposit as well as any previous instalments that you have paid.
Changing Payment Card Details:
If your payment card has expired or is no longer valid (e.g. because you have changed banks), you can change the details of your registered payment card through your account.
Early Payment of Balance:
If you elect to pay using the Payment Plan, you may not be able to pay for your booking in different instalments, including early payment of the full balance.
