The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The Oxfordshire Trial run holds a special place in all our hearts and is back for another year after becoming a treasured member of our event calendar back in 2017.
Our Oxfordshire Trail routes set off from the 850-year-old Manor House of Stonor Park. The estate is home to one of the most ancient deer herds in Britain, so keep your eyes peeled for the graceful fallow deer that have grazed here since medieval times. Out on the trails, if you’re lucky, you may also spot the rare red kite, which has been successfully saved from national extinction in the area.
The three routes weave through the estate and the surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. However, it’s not all a blissful fairy tale or a chance to spot rare wildlife; there are some ferocious trails to negotiate, with climbs and descents reaching gradients of 22% in parts. You’ll need your head firmly focused on the task ahead to get through some parts of this event. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
With three routes on offer, The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail race ensures that trail runners of all abilities will be challenged, and we are sure that saying ‘I do’ to this event is something you won’t regret.

Online entry closes on Wednesday, 4th November 2026 at 12:00 noon. On the day entries will be available if the event is not sold out.
All entries are subject to a small booking fee.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
The Routes
Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.

OUTPOSTS
There will be no outpost on the Short route. There will be 1 outpost on the Middle route 2 outposts on the Half Marathon route. The outposts are designed to act as a top-up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as gels & electrolyte.
Please note, there are no toilets along the run route. There will only be toilets available within the start/finish area.
CUT-OFFS
Although we do not have strict cut-offs as such, we do appreciate if all runners (regardless of distance) are finished by 2pm. This equates to a finish time of 4hrs.
This helps to ease the pressure on our marshals, so that they are not stood outside for long periods of time.
PLASTIC FREE
In an effort to keep our trails clean and preserve the nature around us, we’re aiming to keep our outposts cup-free. Please bring a cup or bottle to refill. Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
HEADPHONES
We strongly recommend not wearing headphones at this event, but if you do want to listen to your tunes whilst on the trials, we recommend bone conduction headphones.
TRANSFERS
If you need to transfer out from this event, you can do this via your Let's Do This account. You can't transfer if the event has sold out.
