The Maverick Exposure Lights Dark West Sussex 2024
Saturday 3 February 2024 | Amberley Museum
The South Downs remains one of our most popular areas for events amongst our Maverick Runners and the Maverick Adidas Exposure Lights West Sussex is no exception. With the event village set in the Amberley Museum, next door to the Amberley Railway station, runners can be collecting their race numbers in less than 120 minutes after departing from London. However, links to London certainly aren’t West Sussex’s only draw.
All three routes weave through the rolling hills, tranquil valleys and bustling hamlets of the quintessentially English South Downs, as well as spending time on the iconic South Downs Way.
Whether you are a seasoned Trail Runner or a complete novice, the West Sussex Dark series event is suitable yet challenging for all levels of experience. The trails vary from fire trails, forest paths and farm tracks, with hills and technical sections thrown in for good measure.
With the West Sussex Dark short route being our hilliest short distance nighttime trail running event (sitting at under 200m of ascent in just over 6km) and the middle and long routes being some of our toughest Dark routes, you can guarantee that signing up to run with us in West Sussex is sure to earn you some serious Kudos. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short & Middle route.
Long: 15 km
Middle: 12 km
Short: 7 km

HOW IT WORKS
As a guide you should always:
• Follow the on course signage
• Listen to on course marshals
• Take care when crossing roads
• Be considerate to others
• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!
In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Hydrapak Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
There will be no outpost on the Short & Middle routes. There will be 1 outpost on the Long route, at approximately 10km. The outpost is designed to act as a top up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as Precision Hydration fuel & electrolyte.
If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us on email@example.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day
Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.
