Step up to the challenge of the Maverick Race Chilterns Trail, an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking Chiltern Hills. Starting from the vibrant market town of Princes Risborough, just an hour from London, with direct rail links from London Marylebone. The route will take you deep into one of England’s most picturesque and historic landscapes.
The route winds across ancient beech woodlands, sweeping ridgelines, and hidden valleys, revealing far-reaching views across the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire countryside. Don’t be fooled by the rolling beauty—the Chilterns are packed with punchy climbs, chalky trails, and technical woodland singletrack that will test your strength and stamina.
Carefully crafted to showcase the best of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the 50km course links sections of the legendary Ridgeway and Chiltern Way, weaving through quaint villages, quiet bridleways, and wildlife-rich chalk downs. Expect a trail that’s fast in places, technical in others, and always rewarding.

As with all Maverick Race events, we’ve got you covered with a range of distances, so whether you’re chasing a personal best or embracing the adventure of your first trail race, the Maverick Chilterns delivers big-sky scenery, well-marked trails, and the unmistakable Maverick spirit. From the first climb out of Princes Risborough to the final descent back to the finish, this is a race that celebrates everything we love about trail running—challenging, beautiful, and proudly untamed.

Due to increasing temperatures, now forecast to be up to 30 degrees on Saturday, we have updated the registration and start times for all distances. CUT OFF POINTS & TIMES
You will have 8hr30 to complete the 50k Ultra & the Marathon route. There is no flexibility on cut off times. If you arrive at the outpost after the cut off time, you will be taken back to the finish venue, this is a non-negotiable. You must leave the outpost before the cut off time.

OUTPOSTS
There will be no outpost on the Short route. There will be 1 Outpost on the Middle route. There will be 2 outposts on the Half Marathon route. There will be 3 outposts on the Marathon route. There will be 4 outposts on the 50k Ultra route. The outposts are designed to act as a top-up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as gels and electrolyte drink. Please note that outposts on this route do not have space for spectators.
PLASTIC FREE
In an effort to keep our trails clean and preserve the nature around us, we’re aiming to keep our outposts cup-free. Please bring a cup or bottle to refill. Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
HEADPHONES
We strongly recommend not wearing headphones at this event, but if you do want to listen to your tunes whilst on the trials, we recommend bone conduction headphones.
TRANSFERS
If you need to transfer out from this event, you can do this via your Let's Do This account. You can't transfer if the event has sold out.
