Nestled in the heart of England the Maverick Buckinghamshire Original really delivers on all levels. You will find yourself winding through ancient woodland, steeped in history with incredible views over the surrounding Chiltern Hills AONB.
Whist running you will be greeted with the sound of Red Kites soaring high above. You will find yourselves running on various famous routes such as the Icknield Way, which is one of the oldest roads in Britain, it consists of Prehistoric pathways, already old when the Romans set foot upon it. It survives now as splendid green lanes.
The route starts off by climbing up to Whiteleaf hill, where you will see the famous white leaf chalk cross, and again stunning views of the surrounding area. A section of the long route takes you to a viewpoint where you can see the famous 16th Century country home of the prime minister “Chequers". Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
With trains frequently leaving London and arriving into Princes Risborough in less than an hour the Maverick Buckinghamshire event is certainly worthy of a Saturday morning adventure.

HOW IT WORKS
As with all Maverick events you can expect up to 3 on-course hydration and nutrition outposts provided by Precision Fuel & Hydration. There will also be prizes for the winners of each distance, male and female.
As a guide you should always:
• Follow the on course signage
• Listen to on course marshals
• Take care when crossing roads
• Be considerate to others
• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!
PLASTIC FREE
In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Hydrapak Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
TRANSFERS
If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day

Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.
