Meet the Team

I’m Dion, a Netherlands-born, South Coast raised father of two with an unwavering passion for running. For me, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of filling a race calendar to keep me motivated, lacing up, and getting those miles in!

Running evolved from a casual hobby into a deeply meaningful part of my life when I was fortunate enough to secure a charity spot for the 2020 London Marathon. That race holds a special place in my heart, not just for the incredible journey leading up to it, but for the doors and friendships it opened. It was during this period that I first crossed paths with Maverick, attending one of their very first MRP social runs. Little did I know, those early experiences would spark a love for their ethos and events, which naturally led me to compete in numerous Maverick races. I’m proud and thrilled to now work for a company that aligns so closely with my own values, allowing me to start a career in an industry I’m truly passionate about.

In a relatively short time, the sport has given me a wealth of incredible experiences I could never have imagined. A huge highlight being an altitude training camp, sharing facilities with Olympians and world-class athletes was surreal! Watching Kilian Jornet train in a hypoxia chamber set at a modest 6,500 meters above sea level was humbling to say the least, when for me a set of stairs felt like a fartlek session. 

I feel so fortunate to have discovered a pursuit that fuels my soul, connects me with like-minded people, and keeps me striving to be my best. Whether it’s chasing PBs, sharing Sunday long runs with friends, or inspiring my kids to stay active, running is—and always will be—an integral part of my life.
