Role: Operations ManagerABOUT ME
I can’t remember a time when I haven’t been involved in sport in some way. I’ve been super lucky to be surrounded by keen sportspeople my whole life and did every sport imaginable as a kid.
I remember standing at the start line of my first cross country when I was 8years old, crying my eyes out with nerves! I ended up placing second, igniting my passion for running and competitive drive.
I went on to compete for my school, county and region in both cross country and track, alongside playing football for my town. I took up snowboard racing at university and competed on the dry slope and indoor slalom, as well as started a new hobby, climbing.
I graduated with a Sports Science degree and started to hunt out jobs in sports, which led me to mass participation events. Who knew organising events could be a full-time job right?! I worked at Human Race events for 3 years, heading up the Participant Services team, whilst competing at a number of Maverick events on my spare weekends off.
The vibe, energy and all-around great people at the Maverick races really got me hooked. I was lucky enough to get to know the team better at the 2019 Chamonix Endeavour Camp and then one thing led to another and here we are! It’s a total dream to have the honour of working with these guys. I've been a part of Maverick HQ for 2 years now, and I can hands-down say that working in events is the best job ever.
On event day you’ll usually catch me near the finish line sorting the race timing but I’ll be popping out and about to try and get to know you all so come say hi!
Outside of events, you can either find me running, climbing or eating pizza (preferably all on the same day).
