Role: Logistics ManagerABOUT ME
It's safe to say trail running came to me pretty much by accident. After years of playing football, rugby, boxing and plenty of gym I eventually got well and truly hooked onto anything mountains. While living 'up North' I spent my weekends in North Wales, The Peaks or The Lakes and in 2008 my new passion took me to the French Alps and some of the best trails on the planet. It also landed me in the centre of Chamonix during the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) with a young newcomer called Kilian Jornet winning aged 20! my mind was blown, not only because I saw incredible athletes in the flesh but also because this was running, but it was actually cool.
The atmosphere, setting, the people and the whole event was electric and now years later i'm finding, through Maverick Race, that here in the UK we have our own growing trail community full of wonderful people and a sport that has been amazing for me and it will be for you.
My working life has been quite varied with a big chunk belonging to the fire service linking into health projects, community, charity, partnerships and more recently an ethical cosmetics company.
Going back almost a decade now I decided to qualify as a personal trainer and a coach as I really enjoy supporting people to find their own healthy lifestyle. It's always felt like making friends rather than another career choice.
If you're like me then you're ready for an adventure, so let's go exploring with Maverick Race, Camps, Run Projects and see what awaits us.
