The Maverick Original Buckinghamshire 2025
The Maverick Original Buckinghamshire 2025
Saturday 12 April 2025 | Princes Risborough School
Nestled in the heart of England the Maverick Buckinghamshire Original really delivers on all levels. You will find yourself winding through ancient woodland, steeped in history with incredible views over the surrounding Chiltern Hills AONB.
Whilst running you will be greeted with the sound of Red Kites soaring high above. You will find yourselves running on various famous routes such as the Icknield Way, which is one of the oldest roads in Britain, it consists of Prehistoric pathways, already old when the Romans set foot upon it. It survives now as splendid green lanes.
The route starts off by climbing up to Whiteleaf Hill, where you will see the famous white leaf chalk cross, and again stunning views of the surrounding area. A section of the long route takes you to a viewpoint where you can see the famous 16th-century country home of the prime minister “Chequers". Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
With trains frequently leaving London and arriving into Princes Risborough in less than an hour the Maverick Buckinghamshire event is certainly worthy of a Saturday morning adventure.
Unfortunately the venue are not allowing dogs at this event, so we will not be able to have dogs at the venue or running in this event.

How it Works
As a guide you should always:
• Follow the on course signage
• Listen to on course marshals
• Take care when crossing roads
• Be considerate to others
• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!
PLASTIC FREE
In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
OUTPOSTS
There will be no outpost on the Short route. There will be 1 outpost on the Middle route. There will be 2 outposts on the Long route. The outposts are designed to act as a top up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as Precision Hydration fuel & electrolyte.
There will not be pre-filled water cups available at the outpost. Please have your re-useable cup or bottle ready when you arrive and make use of our self serve water barrels.
CUTOFF
Although we do not have strict cut offs as such, we do appreciate if all runners (regardless of distance) are finished by 2pm. This equates to a finish time of 4hrs.
This helps to ease the pressure on our marshals, so that they are not stood outside for long periods of time.
TRANSFERS
If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us on [email protected] with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day
The Routes
Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.
