The Maverick ARUK Original Suffolk 2024
Saturday 6 April 2024 | Wantisden Hall
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.
Going for a run and spending time outside is beneficial to both our mental and physical health, but did you know keeping active can also keep our brains in shape?
That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with Alzheimer's Research UK for our Original Suffolk race, so together we can raise awareness of the things we can be doing to look after our brains and support the charity in its efforts to find a cure for dementia.
Back for its forth year, the Original Suffolk takes runners through an unspoilt and largely unventured landscape. The Suffolk AONB is one of the most important wildlife areas in Britain, encompassing three National Nature Reserves and many Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
Rest assured, our Suffolk routes are perfect for even the least experienced trail runner - you just need to choose how far you wish to run. There are 3 route distances to choose from, 9k, 16k or 23k, all promising to be flat and fast as you run through tranquil forest trails.
Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
Our event village and race starts is just 2 hours from the heart of London, so perfect for a short day trip for a morning of exploring new trails.

The Routes
Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.
HOW IT WORKS
As a guide you should always:
• Follow the on course signage
• Listen to on course marshals
• Take care when crossing roads
• Be considerate to others
• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!
PLASTIC FREE
In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Hydrapak Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
OUTPOSTS
There will be no outpost on the short route. There will be 2 outposts on the Middle route (approx 6km & 11km) and 2 outposts on the Long route (approx 6km & 18km). The outposts are designed to act as a top up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as Precision Hydration fuel & electrolyte.
HEADPHONES
We strongly recommend not wearing headphones at this event.
CUT OFFS
Although we do not have strict cut offs as such, we do appreciate if all runners (regardless of distance) are finished by 2pm. This equates to a finish time of 4hrs.
This helps to ease the pressure on a marshals, so that they are not stood outside for long periods of time.
