ABOUT YOUR RUN LEADER

Run Leaders for the Maverick Run Project are the people who make our social runs possible. They know their local area better than we do so they go out and find routes that they think you'll enjoy. Below is the information about the Run Leader for this particular social run.

Ben Morgan

I'm Ben and I've been trail running for 6 years, which, not so coincidentally, is when I also met my wife, Sohko. We bonded during weekend camping trips away from London, usually including some sort of trail race or mountain adventure. It has remained a favorite activity of ours and being closer to trails was one of the primary drivers for moving out to the Chilterns in early 2021. Both of us run for the physical and mental benefits. Being out of London and having easy access to such beautiful countryside has been a real lifesaver over the last few months, helping us to unwind from work and escape from all of life's stresses. We also now run with our Irish Terrier, Fio. She has joined us for a few races and is slowly building up her stamina. You'll no doubt meet her during our MRP runs.

Over the years we've participated in over 20 Maverick Races, including the Snowdon X-Series/Ultra (what a big day out!). We find Maverick has such a great vibe about each event and love the community spirit.

I (Ben) will be leading a Sunday morning run, joined frequently by Sohko and Fio.

RUN INFORMATION

Ben organises a run once a week on Sundays. These will range from 8 to 16km but can occasionally be longer if anyone is up for it.

Ben's runs will take in the beautiful and mildly hilly Hodgemoor Woods, then cut through fields and footpaths across the Chilterns countryside, occasionally joining up with the Chiltern Way and South Bucks Way. There will be occasional moments on the road as runners cut between villages but expect primarily dirty trails. Typically, the route will either loop east through Chalfont St Giles and Jordans or west up to Coleshill (which adds in some nice elevation gain).

See the My Running Club app for more information on routes/times.
