Role: Maverick CrewABOUT ME
What I do:
Work-wise: I am a Chartered Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner currently working for an internationally recognised company within the construction and engineering industry.
This is a difficult one for me to choose, as all the race events that I have taken part in over the last few years hold special memories for one reason or another. But if I had to choose just one, then it would be the Maverick Race Dark Series in Dorset last year and that’s because I had the opportunity to share my trail running adventures with my eldest Grandson and introduce him into the world of Maverick Race.
Plans For This Year:
In between the battle of balancing family, holidays and work I am always keen on finding the next big trail running challenge. So I have decided to up my distance and tackle three out of the four Ultra events that Maverick Race have on offer this year and for those running adventures away from the Maverick team, I have set my sights on completing my first 100km ultra race in July along the Serpent Trail situated within the South Down National Park.
Favourite Running Kit:
I have a couple of favourites. The first one being my Garmin Fenix 5x. Purchased a couple of years ago when I started taking trail running more seriously, this gadget has never let me down and on more than one occasion has put me back on track when I have wandered off course. My second item is my Exposure Lights Head Torch. With phenomenal battery life and light beam, it will see you through the longest of trail runs during those dark winter months.
