Why did we create the Maverick Run Project?
Since the beginning of Maverick Race in 2013 our goal has been to get people out on the trails. We’ve wanted runners to see the amazing Great British outdoors and the amazing AONB’s and National Parks our small Island has to offer.
Over the past 6 years, we’ve grown into the UK’s leading Trail running series and have thousands of new runners joining us every year to see what this Trail running things is all about. With that has come our very own Maverick family and Maverick community.
It’s now time to harness that community away from our official Maverick race events and get people meeting, running and socialising in smaller groups more frequently all across the UK.
This is where the MRP comes in!
We have created the MRP to continue growing our Maverick community of fierce trail runners away from the big Maverick Race events with the view of making this whole trail running ‘thing’ as sociable and accessible as it possibly can be.
Being a member of the MRP means you are part of this Maverick community. It will mean you can attend as many social runs as you like at ANY of the MRP run hubs across the country. Initially, there will just be a handful of hubs, but as we grow, so will the number of locations. The benefit of these hubs is that you can be sure to be running with like-minded people, on trails and on a regular basis and of course… FOR FREE!
The MRP is also an affiliated club of British Athletics. With that stamp of approval comes its own range of benefits, such as discounted race entries, London Marathon club entries and partner rewards, not to mention our own Maverick partner benefits and discounts that we will be offering.
