We're heading to the beautiful South Downs National Park to explore the trails surrounding Winchester. The routes we have mapped are intended to test you. With 3 route options to choose from, there's something for everyone. The trails will lead you through the quaint villages of Tichbourne and Cheriton, up and over undulating hills with panoramic views across the National Park. Stunning winding trails take you past the River Itchen and through some awesome woodland before you head back to Cheesefoot Head. This route is fast and hard-packed so we may even see some PBs and new course records set. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.

With easy access from London, it makes this Hampshire route a must for any trail lover out there.

Please reference the below image which shows the entrance to the event area, via the A272. There will be no access via the A31. Please follow parking signage and race marshals who will direct you once you are on site.

More Information

As a guide, you should always:

• Follow the on-course signage

• Listen to on-course marshals

• Take care when crossing roads

• Be considerate to others

• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!

REGISTRATION

The registration process for each distance is organised with specific time windows to minimise congestion and ensure a smooth experience. During registration, you’ll collect your race number (nothing is sent in advance). It’s recommended to arrive at the beginning of your registration window to avoid queues:

LONG ROUTE - 07:45 - 09:15am

MIDDLE & SHORT ROUTE - 09:00 - 10:10am

Please plan your arrival accordingly!

PLASTIC-FREE

In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.

OUTPOSTS

There will be 1 outpost on the Short route at approximately 3.8km. There will be 1 outpost on the Middle route at approximately 7.5km. There will be 2 outposts on the Long route, at approximately 7.5km and 13km. The outposts are designed to act as a top-up for what you are already carrying. There will be a range of sweet & savoury snacks (fruit, cake, crisps) as well as gels and electrolyte drink.

There will not be pre-filled water cups available at the outpost. Please have your re-useable cup or bottle ready when you arrive and make use of our self serve water barrels.

Please note, there are no toilets along the Short or Middle route. There will be toilets at the second outpost , which only the long route pass through. There will be toilets available within the start/finish area.

HEADPHONES

We strongly recommend not wearing headphones at this event.

CUT-OFFS

Although we do not have strict cut-offs as such, we do appreciate it if all runners are finished by 2pm. This equates to a finish time of 4 hours.

This helps to ease the pressure on our marshals so that they are not stood outside for long periods of time.

TRANSFERS

If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher-value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.

The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us at info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day

Bring your own cup

In an effort to keep our trails clean and preserve the nature around us, we’re aiming to keep our outposts cup free. Please bring a cup or bottle to re-fill.
