Brand new for 2021 we are bringing you the Maverick ARUK Original Suffolk. With three new routes that explore the Suffolk AONB, you will be running through unspoilt and a largely un-ventured landscape. The area has a tranquil calming atmosphere and a distinctive character including; wildlife-rich estuaries, ancient heaths, windswept shingle beaches and historic villages. The Suffolk AONB is one of the most important wildlife areas in Britain, encompassing three National Nature Reserves and many Sites of Special Scientific Interest including the RSPB’s Minsmere Reserve. The mud-flats and creeks of the AONB’s estuaries contain wetland sites that are wildlife refuges for nightjar, woodlark, and rare heath butterflies. So you will be accompanied on your trail run by an abundance of flora and fauna.
You can be sure that the three new routes will challenge you, due to the inclusion of rolling hills and undulating terrain. But rest assured all three routes are perfect for even the least experienced trail runner to become a Maverick for the very first time.
Our event village and race starts is just 2 hours from the heart of London, so perfect for a short day-trip for a morning of exploring new trails. We are so excited to introduce you to this new part of the UK, which is furthest East we have ever taken our Maverick family. We know this will be a popular event due to its location and promise of slightly flatter terrain in comparison to other events. So don’t miss out. See you in Suffolk.
