AKA: AVTABOUT ME
I have been with the Maverick gang unofficially pretty much since they began, running at the races and helping out where I could. The last three years I have been lucky enough to be part of their elite team, and they have helped support many of my rather silly endeavours over the years. The team consists of a number of very talented, but more importantly very friendly runners, all of whom embody the Maverick spirit of inclusion, fun and pushing personal boundaries, and getting a little bit muddy whilst doing so. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of this group, and has helped me massively over the last three years!
2018 was something of a breakout year for me. I managed to clock 1hr 10 to win the Bournemouth half, and somehow survive the heat that hit the London Marathon to come 38th(not including the Elites) with a time of 2hrs 31. On the trails I managed to stumble over the finished line of the Eiger 101 Ultra in 18th, won the Classic Quarter in Cornwall and placed 9th the Garmin Mourne Skyline and managed to race numerous other times, making for a great year.
2019 however, got off to a less ideal start with a stress fracture ruling me to the bike for the first four months of the year, and leading to numerous other issues as the year has progressed. I did manage a few races in the middle of the year, managing to race in Romania placing 3rd at the Transylvania 50k, and setting a new course record at the Classic Quarter. My first stab at the CCC did not go quite as planned, and I crawled over the finish line in 103rd. Not the race I wanted, but still an amazing experience! In addition, I finally managed to complete the GR20 in Corsica over 3 and a half days, which ranks as one of the most amazing things I have done to date. Sadly, a chance encounter with an unhelpfully placed rock took me out of action again in October, with the lateral ligaments in my ankle in various degrees of disarray.
