There are 2 types of Achilles tendon issues; insertional - where the tendon attaches to the bone - and mid-portion - at the muscle-tendon junction (higher up & more common).

As with all tendon issues, Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy comes on from an increase in load i.e. hill running, deeper lunges, heavier deadlifts and certain yoga positions.
