Run Leaders for the Maverick Run Project are the people who make our social runs possible. They know their local area better than we do so they go out and find routes that they think you'll enjoy. Below is the information about the Run Leader for this particular social run.
I'm an experienced trail and ultra runner. Based in East London, my trail journey started 8 years ago in the Himalayas. Since then, along with promoting trail running to my communities I have also crossed finishing lines on many prolific races around the world.
A recent Dad, '"beautifully frustrating" is how I would describe the journey so far. When I'm not out running or Dadding, my main work is in Operations for a household name retailer.
A UKA qualified coach. One of the things I missed the most during lockdown is our 'Community'. I would consider myself to be a traditionalist where I still prefer meeting people 'eyeball to eyeball' rather than online. You can never really know the level of sincerity online.
Alan organises mid-week sessions based on the undulating woody trails of Epping Forest, less than a 30-minute train ride from the City of London. The route will take you through a mixture of hills, single track trails with the occasional wildlife spotting that includes; bats, deers and rabbits.
See the My Running Club app for more information on routes/times.
