Run Leaders for the Maverick Run Project are the people who make our social runs possible. They know their local area better than we do so they go out and find routes that they think you'll enjoy. Below is the information about the Run Leader for this particular social run.
My name is Rui and I am based in Sutton. I started trail running and racing with Mavericks in 2018. In 2019 I decided to push further and began doing ultra distances.
My favourite part about trail running is the elevation, in particular climbing. The harder the climb, the better!
Most of my trail runs are around Surrey Hills: BoxHill and Leith Hill. It's quite difficult to find good elevation in South England. These two spots are great if you want to improve your uphill and downhill skills.
If you like elevation and technical trails, join me!
Below you'll find information about some of the runs Rui organises. To get the most up to date information, locations and dates, please sign into the My Running Club app.
Route 1
Distance: 13km
Start at: Ryka's Café, RH5 6BY

We start at the bottom of Boxhill from Ryka's Café. You can think of this route as a more interesting hill repeat. We will follow along most of the North Downs Route and back. We will accumulate close to 1000 meters of elevation.
Bring water and snacks to last between two to three hours. I advise no less than 70g of carbs per hour and at least 500ml of water. There's no toilet, unfortunately, but plenty of bushes!
