ABOUT YOUR RUN LEADER

Run Leaders for the Maverick Run Project are the people who make our social runs possible. They know their local area better than we do so they go out and find routes that they think you'll enjoy. Below is the information about the Run Leader for this particular social run.

Maria Ledesma

I am an adventurous soul who loves to run! I took up trail running in the summer of 2019 and have not looked back since. Snowdonia will always have my heart - and I can thank Maverick Race for that one! I am based in a lovely, leafy spot in SW London with lots of great trails on the doorstep. Come and experience the joy of trail running with me every Thursday at 7pm and one Saturday a month for a longer run somewhere in SW London or Surrey.

RUN INFORMATION

Maria organises a run every week starting from Barnes Bridge Station in South West London, as well as some longer monthly runs in Surrey.

Route 2 - 13km

A 13 km loop starting and ending at Barnes station. Run along some of the many hidden trails of Barnes before joining the Thames River Path. Can be muddy and slippery in rainy weather, road shoes will get you by, but please wear trail shoes where possible.

Route 3 - 16km

A 16 km starting loop and ending at Barnes station. Run along some of the many hidden trails of Barnes before entering Richmond Park via Roehampton Gate and leaving via Bog Gate. During the colder months the sun sets early, leaving the paths of the park empty. Come and explore the serenity of running amongst the deer, with barely anyone around. Can be muddy and slippery in rainy weather, road shoes will get you by, but please wear trail shoes where possible. Bring a head torch during the months of October to March.

Weekend Runs

Route 1 - 22km

We start at Richmond train station and make our way down to the river via Richmond Green. We plod along the river, through Petersham Meadows and up to Richmond Gate where we enter the park for a fun loop before returning to Richmond station. Must be able to comfortably run 22 km.

Route 2 - 25km

Come along for section one of the National Trail the North Downs Way. We cover 25 km by running an out-and-back to allow those of you who drive to leave your car in Farnham. Get ready for a day with lots of variation from beautiful open fields to lush forests! Bring water, snacks and trail shoes :)
