Run Leaders for the Maverick Run Project are the people who make our social runs possible. They know their local area better than we do so they go out and find routes that they think you'll enjoy. Below is the information about the Run Leader for this particular social run.
I'm a 32-year-old ex RAF helicopter pilot, now working in government IT. I have a new found love for running since a back injury put an end to a very amateur rugby career.
I'm also the Chairman of the Marlow Striders running club since 2019, but a recent relocation sees me searching for a new way to give back to the running community.
Currently training for the Testway 50-mile Ultra on 3rd April 2021 and booked in for the 23km cross race at Chamonix Mountain running festival, in June - Covid travel dependent, of course. I'm looking forward to leading mixed ability groups on the Hampshire trails to the north of Winchester.

With a variety of route options from 5-15 miles come and join MRP Hampshire to explore the droves and trails to the north of Winchester. Routes start from the picturesque village of Sutton Scotney and explore the droves which link all of the villages in the area, from Barton Stacey to Stoke Charity we will weave our way around farmers fields, thatch cottages and the nearby military ranges.
Route 4 is the longer run of the four routes and focusses on the ancient droves that link up the villages of the Wonston Parish and the Dever Valley. We will weave our way around farmers fields, picturesque villages and even conquer a couple of ‘mounds’ along the way, not sure they are big enough to be called hills in Maverick terms!
