Back for the 8th year in the Cotswold Hills, Britain’s biggest AONB, as well as the most quintessentially English place we’ve ever seen. Leaving from the grand Sudeley Castle in the heart of the Cotswold Hills and set in 1200 acres of estate land, this won’t be a walk in the park.
All three routes start at the Tudor Castle and take you straight out onto the trails. The routes join multiple different Long Distance Paths including the; Winchcombe, Gloucestershire and Cotswold Way. All three courses will take you on a rolling adventure showcasing the hidden gems of the northern Cotswolds. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
Whichever route you choose you will be sure to experience undulating terrain through picturesque villages, breath-taking countryside and even past famous ancient sites. Whether you are an experienced trail runner or just starting out these routes will challenge, excite and reward you. Whilst you may have to slow to a power hike up some of the hills, you will have more time to take in the surrounding scenery. We even encourage you to stop and catch your breath as you look out across the green pastures of the Cotswold valleys.
Bring the families, support crews and cheer squads to take a wander around the beautiful Castle and Gardens and of course relax and enjoy the Maverick event village.

Hard-packed well, established trails with some steeper hills. Suitable for all levels.

HOW IT WORKS
As with all Maverick events you can expect up to 3 on-course hydration and nutrition outposts provided by Precision Fuel & Hydration. There will also be prizes for the winners of each distance, male and female.
As a guide you should always:
• Follow the on course signage
• Listen to on course marshals
• Take care when crossing roads
• Be considerate to others
• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!
PLASTIC FREE
In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Hydrapak Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.
CUT OFFS
Although we do not have strict cut of times as such, we do appreciate if all runners (regardless of distance) are finished by 2pm. This equates to a finish time of 4hrs.
This helps to ease the pressure on our marshals, so that they are not stood outside for long periods of time.
TRANSFERS
If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.
The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us on info@maverick-race.com with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day
The Routes
Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.
